For several years the Blue Walnut has enjoyed hosting a vibrant Film Club, where members get to view and discuss a diverse range of films. The Blue Walnut Film Club runs from February to December, meeting once a month to view and discuss the Club's own personal choice of film. Films shown can be anything currently on DVD or video and are supplied either by Club members or The Blue Walnut.
Members pay an annual subscription of £30 for the year. Club members choose the film each month in alphabetical order, although members can 'pass' if they don't wish to choose a film. The Club is currently at capacity, with 23 members and we are compiling a waiting list which will allow us to run the Club twice a month when sufficient numbers are reached. Members are able to bring guests at a cost of £5 per head, subject to attendance and seat availability.
Films watched in the past year are:
Ghandi Before Sunrise
After Sunset
La Ronde
Shane
A Matter of Life and Death
Station Agent
Bladerunner- Directors cut
Rashomon
Micmacs
Remains of the Day
October's film is In the Heat of the Night (1967) starring Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger.
